Insulation Projects for Your Home

To ensure your home is as energy efficient and comfortable as possible, you must use insulation to create a "thermal envelope" around the living space. Heat moves from warm areas to cold ones, so on cold days, the heat in your house tries to get to the colder outside, and on warm days, the outside heat tries to get in. The thermal envelope slows this process.

Insulation also helps keep your home quieter by absorbing sound. Insulation in exterior walls helps prevent outside noise from coming in, and insulation in interior walls helps prevent noise from traveling from room to room.
